Help with Anxiety
One of the most common reasons people seek out therapy is because anxiety levels have become unmanageable. Feeling anxious at times can be normal and is a natural response to stressful situations such as public speaking or taking a test. However, when the anxiety becomes excessive and persistent, it can be debilitating and interfere with daily life, often impacting areas such as work or school performance. Experiencing anxiety encompasses feelings of fear, worry, apprehension, as well as physical symptoms such as increased heart rate, muscle tension, and sweating.
What causes anxiety and what does it look like?
Anxiety can derive from various sources such as genetics, environmental factors, and traumatic experiences. Symptoms may manifest differently for each person but often include racing thoughts, restlessness, difficulty concentrating, irritability, sleep disturbances, and avoidance behaviors.
How I can help with anxiety
In therapy, I provide personalized support to help you manage the anxiety—so you can thrive in your life, not just merely survive. Often, clients find it helpful to have a space to externalize the excessive worry and thought loops happening in their brain. We’ll work on helping you increase awareness into the root causes of these thoughts by helping you look at your own patterns. We will also assess your overall self-care routine and make tweaks where needed. Through utilizing evidenced-based techniques, relaxation training, and mindfulness practices, I assist clients in understanding their triggers, challenging unhelpful thoughts, and developing effective proactive and reactive coping strategies. Together, we will work towards reducing anxiety symptoms and fostering resilience for long-term emotional well-being.
